Shatter
Shatter is the same style of extract left undisturbed so it sets into a translucent, glassy slab. That structure makes it the most shelf-stable option — it won't sugar up as quickly as a soft wax — and it is often reported to test slightly higher on THC. The trade-off is handling: cold shatter snaps and warm shatter goes taffy, so a heated dab tool helps.

Live Resin
Live resin is extracted from plants that were frozen immediately at harvest instead of dried and cured. Skipping the dry means the fragile monoterpenes survive, so live resin smells and tastes dramatically closer to the living plant. The lab number is often a few points lower than shatter, but the experience is fuller and more strain-specific. This is the one to buy when flavor matters more than the number on the label.

Potency isn't the whole story
It's tempting to sort the case by THC percentage and buy the highest number. In practice the gap between a 72% live resin and an 82% shatter is far smaller than the gap in how they taste and how the effect unfolds. Terpenes shape the character of the high — the same way two strains at identical THC can feel completely different. If you're chasing flavor and a rounder, more strain-specific experience, pay up for live resin. If you're chasing value and volume, wax and shatter win every time.
How to build a mix-and-match bundle
Our everyday mix-and-match lets you build a multi-gram order of wax or shatter at a lower per-gram price than singles. The case rotates constantly, so the smart play is to treat the bundle like a sampler rather than one strain:
- 3–4 grams of a daytime favorite — a sativa-leaning wax you already know you like, so most of the order is a sure thing.
- 2 grams of a stable shatter — it keeps the longest, so it's the part of the order that will still be good in a month.
- 2–3 grams of something new — ask what just came in. This is an inexpensive way to find out which strains actually work for you.
Live resin is usually priced separately from the wax and shatter bundle and has its own multi-gram break — add a gram to a wax order when you want a flavor night without changing the whole budget.
Dabbing without wasting product
- Start rice-grain sized. Concentrates are three to four times the potency of flower.
- Go low temperature — around 500°F. Scorching hot nails burn off the terpenes you paid for.
- Wait ten minutes before a second dab. Onset is fast, but the ceiling arrives later than you expect.
- Store concentrates cold and dark in a sealed silicone or glass container to slow terpene loss.
- Adults 21+ only, consumed in a private residence. Never drive after dabbing.

What is the difference between wax and shatter?
Wax and shatter usually start from the same extraction — the difference is how the oil is handled afterward. Agitating and whipping the oil traps air and gives you an opaque, soft wax or budder. Leaving it undisturbed on the parchment gives you a stable, glass-like shatter. Potency is comparable; texture and handling are what change.
Is live resin stronger than shatter?
Not necessarily in raw THC. Live resin is usually a little lower on the lab sheet but tastes and feels fuller because it's made from fresh-frozen plants that keep far more terpenes. Most people describe live resin as more flavorful and more expressive rather than simply harder-hitting.
